Plant material can be coated with glass powder or mica to be used as a stencil to transfer the foliage pattern in color to glass. Ghost foliage is similar but omits adding anything. The transferred image is an ash ghost of the foliage.

Applying glass powder or mica to plant material and fusing glass onto it will fuse the color to the glass. An alternative is to fuse the glass onto the bare foliage to create an ash imprint in the glass. You can press and dry the plant material or use it freshly picked right into your kiln.

Use art glass, float glass, clear glass or colors. You may even decide to experiment with a little iridized glass. There’s no end to the lacy, gossamer images you can design with Ghost Foliage. Don’t miss it!
